The state of the art Youth Services Division of the Central Library offers more than just books. It's an active learning center with innovative programs that have served as models for other libraries throughout the nation. The Division is divided into two primary collections: Children's and Young Adult.
Come to the Division to:
- Interact with our staff of highly skilled Librarians to collect materials for school assignments, or receive recommendations for future reading.
- Check out the newest releases available in many different genres: fiction, mystery, adventure, sci-fi, and our growing collection of comics and graphic novels.
- Participate in a variety of programs for all ages.
- Interact with peers in an environment designed specifically for Children and Teens.
Schools within the immediate vicinity of the Central library are eligible for scheduled visits assisted by the Division's librarians. Schools and organizations not in the immediate vicinity are welcome to conduct self-guided tours of the collection or contact their local branch library. To inquire about a class visit, contact the Youth Services Department at (718) 230-2116.
