Damsel in Distress

Am I your friend? Or do you think of me otherwise? Do you like me because I'm pretty and because of the way I act? Or do you like me just for me? Would you be my friend forever? Someone I can talk to and someone who will help me up when I'm down? I hope it doesn't sound strange the way I'm trying to get my point across but, I think you should know. Could you and I be real tight? You know, I'll be Beyonce and you'll be Jay-Z. I'll be just your Beyonce, alright? I saw beneath those lies when I looked deep into your eyes. I so stubborn and bossy became nice and spontaneous. People tried to make you out to fit what they thought would pull me away from you. But I never listened to them. Now here we are, same place, same time. I'm sitting here chatting it up with you as memories of you and I flash through my mind, I smile. All the arguments, all the debates, all the laughs, all the hugs, all the dances, all the tears, all the tales, all the embarrassing moments(yes the embarrassing moments), all the times you and I spent sniping at each other, all the things we have in common, all the joy, sadness, happiness, all the awkward moments (awkward but romantic in some sort of way). From one thing to another, we're sitting here staring at each other. In my mind, I'm thinking, if we feel this way (and I fell too hard I think), why don't you cut the talk and come be with me?
