We will review your application, and if there are any possible matches with currently available volunteer opportunities, we will invite you to attend an information session and interview.
If you are interested in helping adults learn to read, write, and use computer technology at six Learning Centers located at five neighborhood libraries and the Central Library
Assist children in grades 1-8 with homework assignments on weekday afternoons
(not available in July and August)(16+ only)
Greet and direct library users at the Central Library's Welcome Center
(18+ only)
Assist customers using computers and other technology (14+ only)
Lead conversation groups for adults learning to speak English (18+ only)
Read aloud to groups of children, parents and caregivers in pediatric
clinic waiting rooms at selected sites in Brooklyn (18+ only)
If you're a teen volunteer, you can help librarians read aloud to children and assist with all kinds of cool youth programs. (12-18 only; complete Summer Book Buddy application at your local library)
By participating in this volunteer program, you'll learn new computer skills in a two-week summer technology institute, and then share those skills by helping patrons use library computers. (14-18 only; complete T4 application)
