Coney Island

Summertime makes us think of being outside, lounging at the beach, and eating ice cream. And for many Brooklyn residents? Going to Coney Island. Take a trip down the boardwalk of memory lane to a time where you spent a lazy day at the beach and the night among carnival rides eating at Nathan's.

Explore hundreds of photographs in Brooklyn Public Library’s Brooklyn Collection that depict a time gone by. For more history, visit the Coney Island History Project.

Also, the library has several books about Coney Island. Take them to the beach and enjoy!
