Forever Young
As parent of two young boys, I constantly find myself doing things that I would never ever consider doing, such as riding the Runaway Train or an Upside Down Coaster.
Okay! So call me a big chicken!!!!
With the cost of living sky rocketing parents are being forced to work full time, with grandparents becoming the primary care givers. Grandparents are finding themselves not only caring for their grandchildren but also trying to find ways to keep their little active angels entertained.
Depending on the child’s age keeping the grandkids busy means planning ahead, tons of patience, and lots of exercise. Unless you are a very daring grandparent I wouldn’t recommend riding a roller coaster. However a trip to an amusement park is always fun for both young and old.

Below are a few ideas to keep the little angels entertained:
- The Brooklyn Public Library – Whether it’s picking a favorite book or picking from our selection of children’s videos, the library has many programs to keep children entertained. And check out Brooklyn Public Library's First Five Years for the young grandchildren and KidZone for the older grandchildren. You can even register your grandchildren for their very own library card.
- Prospect Park Zoo
- Brooklyn Cyclones at Coney Island
- Brooklyn Childrens Museum
- Brooklyn Botanic Garden
- Brooklyn Museum
- Prospect Park
- A trip to the park – You can explore several parks, then have them choice their favorite one. Many parks have water sprinklers for those very hot days.
When it all comes down, it’s not where you go that really matters. It’s the quality time you are able to spend, the hugs and the kisses that make all the difference in the world. Grandchildren will never forget the little things their nanas or papas do with them. These moments are forever priceless.
"What a wonderful contribution our grandmothers and grandfathers can make if they will share some of the rich experiences and their testimonies with their children and grandchildren."
- Vaughn J. Featherstone
