Service Upgrades

Dekalb Library

DeKalb Library (790 Bushwick Avenue) will be closed through Monday, December 14, for extensive roof repairs. These are critical roof repairs to protect our customers, staff and collections.

While renovations continue, Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) will offer bookmobile service at DeKalb Library Wednesdays from 1 PM to 6 PM and Fridays from 11 AM to 4 PM.

In addition, our full catalog, along with hundreds of eBooks, articles and databases, can be accessed 24 hours, seven days a week from a home computer or another remote location using a BPL library card. Several nearby BPL branches, including Saratoga and Marcy libraries, are also open and ready to meet your needs.

Macon Library

Macon Library (361 Lewis Avenue) is closed for restoraction work. It will reopen at 10 AM on Monday, December 14.

During this one month closure Macon will undergo preliminary upgrades including window replacement, exterior rehabilitation, installation of exterior lights and front fence reparations. Macon will close again in Spring 2010 to finalize these renovations. While renovations continue, BPL will offer bookmobile service at Macon Library Tuesdays from 11 AM to 4 PM and Thursdays from 1 PM to 6 PM. In addition, our full catalog, along with hundreds of eBooks, articles and databases, can be accessed 24 hours, seven days a week from a home computer or another remote location using a BPL library card. Several nearby BPL branches, including Saratoga and Marcy libraries, are also open and ready to meet your needs.

Park Slope Library

Park Slope Library closed to the public on Friday, October 30, 2009. The building will be closed for two years while undergoing renovations. Throughout the renovation, bookmobile hours will be offered on Mondays 11 AM to 4 PM and on Wednesdays from 1 PM to 6 PM.


Cypress Hills Library

Cypress Hills Library (1197 Sutter Avenue) is closed to complete necessary roof work. It will reopen on Monday, November 23 at 10 AM.

During this closure, Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) will provide Bookmobile service at Cypress Hills on Tuesday, November 17 and Friday, November 20 from 1 PM to 5 PM. Customers can also use nearby New Lots (665 New Lots Avenue) or Arlington (203 Arlington Avenue) Libraries.
