Join us to learn and create Abstract Art! This is a 5-week art series.  Everyone is welcome, from beginners to advanced participants.

Space is limited and registration is required!⁠ Please register online or call the Brower Park Branch to register at 718.230.2227.  All supplies will be provided.

Art participants will learn techniques fostering creativity and enjoying a community of fellow inspiring and supportive artists.

May 2: Week 1 Introduction to the Fundamentals of Abstract Art- Participants will view examples of abstract art and abstract artists.  Using color theory, we will practice mixing colors and practice abstract painting design and composition.

May 9: Week 2 Abstract Art Composition- Participants will use abstract cut out shapes to place, trace, and design their abstract composition.

May 16: Week 3 The Abstract Painting- Participants will paint the abstract art design that they have created, adding details and final touches.

May 23: Week 4 Abstract Free Form Self-Expression Painting- Participants will have fun creating their concept & ideas of expression in their abstract free style art.

May 30: Week 5 Our Abstract Expression on Canvas- Participants will add their finishing touches to their work.  They can share their ideas and concepts expressed in their work with their fellow participants.
