Inclusive Services at BPL provides unique programs for children and teens with and without disabilities. Fostering an inclusive environment, we open our doors to all children, parents, caregivers, and educators.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Check out fiction and nonfiction for teens, memoirs about mental illness for a teen audience, fiction and nonfiction for school-age children, and picture books about mental health.

One-on-One Expert Assistance

Many situations require the assistance of an expert. We can provide one-to-one help for you and your child with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, early childhood services and programs, transition planning, navigating systems, including Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health, and others. First Wednesday of every month, 10am to 1pm

Facilities

Inclusive Services is located in two barrier-free BPL libraries and online. Our equipment makes the library experience accessible to children with different abilities. Cube chairs, mats for floor play, positioning cushions, and adaptive toys are available. For information about adaptive technology, please call 718-253-4948.
